3.Prepare a brief critique of the articles you selected to write your paper related to your nursing expertise:
a.Create a new Microsoft Word™ document. This assignment does require a title page. Review 3.5 APA Paper and Journal Reference PPT slides 22-27 that is located in Workshop Three to format the different headers and the content needed for the Title page.
b.Center the title for your paper on the top line of the body page. The title should be “Literature Critique on _________.”
c.Beginning on the next line of the page, write a brief introductory paragraph introducing the topic of your expertise and that this paper will be a literature critique.
d.Use a level one header (see APA Style Central® Quick Guide: Heading Levels or APA Manual page 62) to label the six articles you will review with the words: Article One, Article Two, etc. Also include a level one header for the conclusion section of your critique.
e.Introduce each article with its name, author, and publishing information (year of publication, journal name, and volume, issue, and page numbers) at the beginning of a paragraph to cover each article. (Write this in one or two complete sentences.)
◾Article titles in the narrative should be within quotation marks and capitalized except for insignificant words less than four letters.
◾Journal titles in the narrative should be capitalized and in italics.
◾The words volume and issue should be lower case.
◾Volume and issue numbers should be expressed as numerals.
◾When a title is used as the subject of a sentence, it should not be followed by a comma.
◾When a title is added as a modifying phrase to the subject, it should be set apart from the sentence by commas.
◾Do not place commas before simple prepositional phrases.
You may need to refer to the additional resources in APA Style Central® to ensure that formatting and punctuation is correct for referring to articles in the narrative of a paper. f.Using the questions listed in Assignment 2.5 Step #2 (scope, focus of the research, focus of the literature review, generalizability), briefly address the points outlined below. Do not use a question and answer format. Formulate your critique into several well-organized paragraphs for each article. Complete your discussion related to each article before moving to the next article. Include the following information:
i.Scope: how many people are affected (include in the opening remarks about the article)
ii.Severity: how serious the issue is (include in the opening remarks about the article)
iii.Application: in what ways it can be used – theory, practice, or both (include in the closing remarks about the article)
iv.Relevance: how it fits into the topic or research question being explored (include in the closing remarks about the article)
g.For true research articles (with a defined method, population, intervention and data driven results), address question 9 on page 102 of Taylor. i.Focus on the research: what aspect is being researched?
ii.Describe whether the research provides new findings, validates, and/or contradicts previous research.
iii.Is the hypothesis accepted or rejected?
